Victorian business sustainability stars – entries closing in Premier’s Sustainability Awards

A reminder to all Victorian businesses, social enterprises, schools, government project managers, health services and community groups – entries in the 2018 Premier’s Sustainability Awards close at 5pm on Thursday 7 June.

The awards are the highlight of the Victorian sustainability calendar. To be held in Melbourne on Thursday 11 October, the gala dinner recognises leadership, creativity and innovation across ten categories.

2017 Small and Medium Enterprises category winner was Kingfield Galvanising. Their CEO, Steve Laussen, described their involvement in the awards program, saying “Being nominated for an award was further recognition for our shareholders, board and staff that we had been successful in driving process innovation and had demonstrated leadership within our industry.

“Attending the awards night was simply outstanding and very firm realisation for us that we were part of a broader business community committed to sustainable outcomes. The connections we made on the evening and the recognition gained from our participation has provided great impetus to our business and a real sense of achievement for our staff. We could not be more thrilled with the involvement.”

Now in its 16th year, the Premier’s Sustainability Awards continue to grow and reflect action happening across industry, business and community from regional to metropolitan Victoria.

They attract entries that showcase skills, ingenuity and performance and celebrate inspirational people who continue to lead the way.

After entries close, a panel of independent industry experts will assess all entries with finalists to be announced mid-August.

The Premier will personally select two overall winners of the Premier’s Regional Recognition Award and the Premier’s Recognition Award, to be announced at the awards dinner. So, with only a few weeks to go, what are you waiting for?
